Don C. Andrews - Translator and writer

I am a freelance translator and writer, now settled in Maidstone, in the United Kingdom. I have had many years of experience as a translator, writer and editor, above all when I lived on the island of Ibiza.

Here I ran the island’s foreign-langauge magazines in English and German. I wrote many of the articles (although I always wrote articles for the Ibiza HEUTE in English and then had them translated into German), took many of the photos and laid out both publications. In my spare time, I translated a book (Tales of Mel) into English and collaborated regularly with the Spanish daily newspaper, the Diario de Ibiza.

I enjoy translating from both Spanish and German, as the two languages are very different and offer different challenges to the translator. You can see examples of my work in Spanish and German on other pages of this site.

I also continue to enjoy writing, and I was both saddened and honoured recently to be asked to write an obituary for my friend, former colleague and former boss at the Morna Valley School, John Tunks.

Well, that’s me in a nutshell. Please feel free to explore the site further, using the links at the top of the page, and please let me know what you think.
